BLOODROCK \ 1970 S-T . A few words. It was around 1969 that hard rock and heavy metal first began to surface. Although it was Black Sabbath that would be credited for ultimately creating the new genre, the fact is that there were some other hard rock groups around before them. One such group was the Texas-based band, Bloodrock. They started as the NATURALS in 1963 and at 1969 they changed to BLOODROCK. Their sound we could say that was ahead of its time. The band didn't release a whole lot of albums, but managed to release some good material in their days together. Line up : Jim Rutledge (vocals) Lee Pickens (guitar) Ed Grundy (bass) Stevie Hill (keyboards) Nick Taylor (guitar) Rick Cobb (drums)
